1. Introduction

This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) governs the use of the CleryEdge system (“Product”) by individuals who access it as authorized users of a subscribing institution. This AUP is incorporated by reference into the CleryEdge Terms of Service and Subscription Agreement. In the event of a conflict between this AUP and the Subscription Agreement, the Subscription Agreement shall control.

The purpose of this AUP is to promote responsible use, protect the integrity of our system, and ensure that all activity within CleryEdge complies with applicable legal, ethical, and institutional obligations.

2. Authorized Use Only

You may only access CleryEdge as an authorized user of a subscribing institution. Access must be used solely for legitimate institutional purposes in support of Clery Act compliance and related campus safety and security efforts.

3. Prohibited Activities

Without limitation, you agree not to use CleryEdge to:

  • Upload or distribute content that infringes copyright, trademark, or other proprietary rights.
  • Transmit any unlawful, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or abusive material.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or compromise system security or performance.
  • Attempt unauthorized access to data, accounts, or networks.
  • Share login credentials or otherwise allow unauthorized users to access the system.
  • Send unsolicited messages (spam), run unauthorized scripts, or introduce malware.
  • Violate applicable laws, regulations, or institutional policies related to data handling or privacy.
4. Institutional Accountability

Your use of CleryEdge is subject to oversight by your institution. Inappropriate or unauthorized activity may result in suspension or termination of access by either the institution or NACCOP-AEGIS, LLC.

5. System Monitoring and Security

We monitor usage of CleryEdge for the purposes of performance, audit logging, and security as described in the Privacy Policy. By using the system, you acknowledge this monitoring and agree not to disable or circumvent any technical controls in place.

6. Enforcement and Reporting

Violations of this AUP may result in temporary or permanent revocation of access privileges and may be reported to institutional administrators. In cases involving criminal or civil violations, NACCOP-AEGIS, LLC reserves the right to report such activity to law enforcement or regulatory authorities where required or permitted by law.

7. Updates to This Policy

Provider may update this AUP from time to time. Updates will be communicated to the subscribing institution and implemented in accordance with the Subscription Agreement. Continued access by individual users is subject to the institution’s acceptance of such updates under the Subscription Agreement. The current version will always be available on this webpage.
